May 3-May 31: “Countering Pharaoh’s Production-Consumption Society Today.”

In the bible, Pharaoh exploited the Israelites through slavery. Today’s economic crisis provides but one example of the issues that remain even in our current economic structure. In this course, we’ll explore what it means to counter Pharaoh’s culture and truly live in covenant. Facilitated by Scott Groth. Bridge classroom, back area.

  2. This class was full of just the kind of challenging material we aren't happy to hear. I once heard that one of the jobs of the upper class is to persuade the middle class that "upper classdom" is within their reach and, therefore, should vote/support the interests of the upper class. This same argument has been made for voting for the interests of "seniors," but in the case of seniors, it's true that everyone will attain that class at some time. Keep up the challenging stuff -- it's hard, but it pushes us to think beyond our own interests.
